The 13th Asian Logistics, Maritime and Aviation Conference (ALMAC), jointly organised by the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), was held at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre on 21 & 22 November 2023.

The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong co-organised a Youth Empowerment Workshop on 22 November 2023. Dr Eugene Wong (Associate Professor – The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong; Director- Policy Research Institute of Global Supply Chain) discussed the future development of the supply chains and the logistics industry with the following 4 industry speakers:

• Mr Alan Chau – Logistics Director, Swire Coca-Cola HK
• Dr Andrea Giachero -(President, Spediporto
• Ms Yamby Lun – Director, East Asia Region of Ocean Network Express (East Asia) Ltd.
• Mr Chandler So – Airfreight Director, North Asia Sub-region of GEODIS

They shared the essential skills for the youth in pursuing their career in the supply chains and the logistics industry.

MSc-GSCM students had the opportunity to attend the conference. Through joining the conference, students gained a deeper understanding of the future development of the supply chain industry and to equip themselves and prepare for their career development.
