An Industry Session forum, titled “Risk Management and Maritime Cybersecurity for Sustainable Development of Shipping and Trade”, is jointly organised by The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong, Shue Yan University, The University of Hong Kong and The Hong Kong Polytechnic University on 12 June 2020. It is an on-line forum about risk management for shipping and trade under dynamics impact of pandemic and cyber-attack, with over 230 participants from more than twenty countries attended the event. Five experienced experts were invited as distinguished guest speakers. The modulator and speakers are as follows:

Prof. Lawrence Lee kicked start the session, followed by Dr. Eugene Wong delivered a welcoming speech. Mr. Philip Cheng introduced the recent cyberattack and pandemic outbreak impact in the maritime logistics and Prof. Qiang Meng shared a critical review and future research opportunities in these aspects. Dr. Ricci Ieong explained the cybersecurity strategies and possible technology solutions while Dr. Saiful Karim discussed the solutions and precautions in the legal aspects. Mr. Rory Young introduced the cyber risk transfer from the finance and insurance perspective for the cybersecurity issues. A panel discussion with Q&A was carried out after the sharing from speakers. The industry session forum was supported by the Research Grants Council of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, China (UGC/IIDS14/B03/19).
