Cathay Pacific is one of the world’s leading airlines, committed to providing excellent aviation services and promoting sustainable development. On 24 September 2024 (Tue), a visit themed “Sustainable Aviation Fuel and Green Aviation” took place at Cathay Pacific City, attended by 13 students from the MSc in Global Supply Chain Management Programme.

As the first airline to invest in technology that produces Sustainable Aviation Fuel from municipal waste, representatives from Cathay Pacific introduced the raw materials used for sustainable aviation fuel and its significance in reducing carbon emissions. They also shared how Cathay mitigates environmental burdens through measures such as waste reduction at the source and the use of recycled or alternative materials in design. This provided students with in-depth insight into Cathay Pacific’s latest strategies, initiatives and goals in sustainability.
