The 14th Asian Logistics, Maritime and Aviation Conference (ALMAC), jointly organised by the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), was held at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre on 18 & 19 November 2024.

The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong co-organised a Youth Empowerment Workshop on 19 November 2024. Dr Eugene Wong (Associate Professor – The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong; Director- Supply Chain Excellence and Innovation Centre) discussed the future development of the supply chains and the logistics industry with the following 3 industry speakers:

• Mr Wilson Kwong – Chief Executive, Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Limited
• Mr Steve Ng – Head of Supply Hong Kong and Taiwan, Reckitt
• Mr Billy Yeung – Senior Director, Supply Chain Management, Hong Kong, Macau, and Mainland China, DKSH Hong Kong

They shared the evolving landscape of careers in logistics and supply chain management, including the indispensable skills necessary for success in this dynamic industry. 

MSc-GSCM students had the opportunity to attend the conference. Through joining the conference, students gained a deeper understanding of the future development of the supply chain industry and to equip themselves and prepare for their career development.
